Baja Officials Stand United with Baja Love Ride

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Baja Officials Stand United with Baja Love Ride

San Felipe, Baja California, March 17 - The Baja Love Ride is a 4-day “ride for cause” fundraising bicycling event that will stretch from Rosarito Beach to San Felipe and will also include admission to the 5th Annual San Felipe Blues & Arts Fiesta. The event is designed to showcase the best of Baja, illustrate public safety and simultaneously promote tourism. This event promises to not only bring the Baja communities together, but also benefit those facets of Baja society that need help the most, the children of Baja.

Baja California Secretary of Tourism, Juan Tintos Funcke and the state have all fully supported the idea of the event from its conception. This week, officials with the Baja California Secretary of Tourism office have committed themselves further to the success of the Baja Love Ride, by approving the participation of high ranking state tourism delegates. In addition to escorts by the Mexican Federal Police, Red Cross and Green Angels, state officials Hector Higuera Aguilar, Tourist Assistance Chief, State Secretariat of Tourism and Arturo Martinez Deputy Director of Visitor Assistance and Facilitation, State Secretariat of Tourism of Baja California and other delegates of the state will be joining the riders of the Baja Love Ride for the full 4 days to share in this unique and unforgettable Baja experience.

The ride will begin on Tuesday March 22, at 10AM in front of the Rosarito Beach Hotel and will finish Friday March 25, at 3PM at the Arches of San Felipe. All riders will receive complimentary tickets to the Blues and Arts Fiesta on Saturday March 26, another charitable event to help the children of Baja that also draws a huge crowd each year.

The promoters of this event want to encourage everyone that loves Baja, whether you own a bicycle or not, to be a part of this event in one way or another. You are encouraged to ride, volunteer or donate. Proceeds raised in each community will remain in each community to support the local children's organizations that desperately need continuous help. This is the time to stand up and be counted. Baja and its residents have been taking a hit from US media, which has led to an undeserved reputation of Baja being unsafe for tourist, an industry Baja relies heavily upon. Now is the time to help dispel reports that lead people to believe Baja is anything but safe, secure and a wonderful place to visit and live. Alongside the event promoters and the
Baja California Secretary of Tourism, we all need to stand together and show the world that Baja is a welcoming destination overflowing with people that care about their communities, their children and their country.

Taking part in the Baja Love Ride is bound to be a memorable experience for those looking to be involved in improving the lives of children and also looking to take in the beauty, serenity, hospitality and luxury Baja has to offer every step of the way. Helping others and pampering your senses at the same time is what the Baja Love Ride can give to riders, spectators and volunteers all along the route. Please join us.

Baja Charity Bicycle Ride in the Lap of Luxury

San Felipe, Baja California - The Baja Love Ride promises to be an event that will not only bring the community together, but benefit those facets of society that need help the most, the children of Baja. Organizers, participants and those who will be cheering them on all know the first annual “ride for a cause” will make the lives of Baja children better through their hard work. However, it all doesn’t have to be all work and no play. Those who join the ride or help out are bound to see that charitable work done against the backdrop of breathtaking Baja can end up being its own reward. Participants will find themselves treated to the generosity of the Baja people and they will also have the best of the best in the way of amenities and hospitality along every stretch of the event.

The registration fee for the entire ride is $200 which includes meals. Some of the finest, safest, and most gorgeous locations along the way are opening their doors to Baja Love Ride participants. The exquisite Rosarito Beach Hotel will offer up accommodations on March 21st for $39 plus tax for riders. This includes a safe parking garage which is available for $2 for riders and available shuttle service back to the border or San Diego airport. The Rosarito Beach Hotel is legendary and has attracted the elite and famous Hollywood power players since 1925. The original owner built an incredibly ornate mansion that overlooks the ocean. The mansion, originally built for his wife and family, now houses a luxury spa, perfect for riders getting ready and gearing up. Current owner, two time mayor, Mr. Hugo Torres, still has the famous sign above the door proclaiming “Through this door pass the most beautiful women in the world.”

Other accommodations for riders include the Estero Beach Resort. This 4 star oceanfront resort has acres of private sandy beaches, perfect for relaxing after a day of riding for charity, plus pools, spa and restaurants.  There are plenty of outdoor sports opportunities for those who still feel full of adrenaline. The resort will be providing free tent camping and hotel rooms for only $50 plus tax per night. RV sites for riders and those cheering them on along the route are available for $25 a night plus tax. RV dry camping sites will only be $15 plus tax.

The Hacienda Ojos Negros, located in the beautiful Ojos Negros valley is offering free tent camping for participants and discounts on their many private cabanas. This resort encompasses 2900 acres of desert trails and creeks, perfect for anyone who appreciates the natural beauty of Baja.

In San Felipe, the Playa de Paraiso is a luxurious resort with 1000 feet of beachfront to explore. They will be providing free tent camping on the private beach; which is within walking distance to town. The resort will also offer a 50% discount on rooms for riders. Discounts on cabanas will also be available. At this resort, any rider will relish taking in the ocean views and taking advantage of the wide open spaces.

Taking part in the Baja Love Ride is bound to be a memorable experience for those looking to be involved in improving the lives of children and also looking to take in the beauty, serenity, hospitality and luxury Baja has to offer every step of the way. Baja charity bike ride delayed, shortened

TIJUANA — Organizers of a 1,000-mile, 16-day bike ride originally planned for next month down the Baja California peninsula have shortened their course and delayed the event until March.

The Baja Love Ride, promoted as a fundraiser for children's charities, is now scheduled from March 22nd to March 26th. The new route is 217 miles long, said John Pack, one of the organizers. The plan now is to start off from Monumental Plaza in Playas de Tijuana, pass through the Baja California communities of Rosarito Beach, La Mision, Ojos Negros and the Valle de La Trinidad, and end up up in San Felipe in time for the port’s Blues & Arts Fiesta.

Pack said one of the main reasons for the change in plans is the condition of the roads south of San Felipe, which has made it impossible for buses and other large event vehicles to get through. “We’ll just do a pre-run and next year will be the entire route,” Pack said.

The event is conceived as a fundraiser for orphanages and other children’s organization on the route. Promoters are also hoping that the event will deliver the message that traveling to Baja California can be safe.

ENGLISH: Baja Love Ride - A Charity Event for Baja Kids

The first of hopefully many Baja Loves Rides is being planned. Baja Love Ride will be a bike ride for charity that will hopefully improve the lives of countless children who need support from the entire peninsula.

The ride will be approx. 1000 miles long through 12 communities down Baja. It is slated to last 15 days, starting on February 14th in Rosarito Beach and finishing on February 28th in Cabo San Lucas.

Riders are encouraged to get the word out and bring in as many participants as they can. They are also being encouraged to seek donors to support the cause. This ride is perfect for athletes, seasoned cyclists or anyone who wishes to engage in the personal challenge of completing the course. It will also be an amazing way to experience the breath-taking landscape that is Baja.

Riders can join the Baja Love Ride as a team. Teams can be made up of two to four riders.

With a team in place, the ride can be completed in a relay fashion, allowing individual riders to sit out some of the course and basically share the load. There will be sponsors and supporters all along the ride route to assist or guide any rider. There will be ample rest stops, designated hotels and meals for participants along the way.

If a 15-day peninsula long ride is outside the scope of your participation, like it would be for many...no worries, the ride is design for everyone. Symbolic of the need for a child to have a good start on life, the ride will begin each morning with a “Good Start” ride. The Good Start ride will be approx. 5 miles long from the starting point to a sponsor restaurant, where a presentation will be given about the ride, the charity and children.

John and Rachel Pack, of Baja Good Life Club, are the creators behind Baja Love Ride and see the idea as a win-win for them and everyone in Baja. They are extremely passionate about promoting the best about the land they love and call home. They see the ride as a way to help better the lives of innocent children who have no control over their circumstances and also a creative way to promote Baja both culturally and socially. Plus, for them and others in the area who strive to be the best they can be, it is an awesome way to stay or get in shape.

They personally encourage anyone interested to join and begin seeking donors to ensure this ride is a success and hopefully something the needy children of Baja will come to know as an annual helping hand. Find out how you can help at www.bajaloveride.com.
